PROGRAMME OFFICER (IMMIGRATION AND BORDER GOVERNANCE) - P2 LEVEL Sokify is pleased to present this opportunity with the International Organization for Migration, a leading global organization dedicated to advancing migration management and border security. ABOUT THE ROLE You will serve as a Programme Officer supporting the Regional Counter-Smuggling Programme, a dynamic three-year initiative operating across Ethiopia, Kenya, and Somalia. This programme, developed in partnership with the UK Home Office and Border Security Command, focuses on strengthening airport border management capabilities and enhancing regional cooperation to combat document fraud, migrant smuggling, and transnational organized crime. Your work will address critical gaps in technical capacity, operational procedures, and institutional frameworks at major international airports throughout the region. You will champion protection-sensitive approaches that ensure migrant rights and dignity remain central to all counter-smuggling efforts. REPORTING STRUCTURE You will report directly to the Senior Programme Manager of Immigration and Border Governance, while working under the overall supervision of the Deputy Regional Director for Operations. You will coordinate closely with the Regional Thematic Specialist for Immigration and Border Governance at the Regional Office for Eastern and Horn of Africa in Nairobi, Kenya, and engage with relevant divisions and units at the organization's headquarters. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES As Programme Officer, you will provide comprehensive support and coordination across all programme activities, ensuring effective implementation and stakeholder engagement throughout the three participating countries.
