ABOUT THE ROLE Join IOM as a Programme Officer specializing in Monitoring and Evaluation for the Better Regional Migration Management (BRMM) Programme, East and Horn of Africa's most comprehensive labour migration initiative. Since its launch in August 2021 with Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) funding, BRMM has established itself as IOM's flagship programme across the region. This pivotal position offers you the chance to shape evidence-based labour migration policy and practice. You will support critical efforts to strengthen labour migration governance, champion fair and ethical recruitment standards, protect migrant workers and their families, and create pathways to safe, orderly and regular labour migration opportunities. PROGRAMME FOCUS The BRMM FY26–27 framework concentrates on operationalizing skills-to-employment initiatives, expanding skills mobility, and establishing ethical recruitment systems for secure labour migration throughout the East and Horn of Africa. The programme emphasizes scalable, data-driven interventions that expand access to decent employment, fortify national and regional labour migration systems, and reduce dependence on irregular migration routes. Implementation spans four priority countries: Ethiopia, Kenya, Somalia, and additional regional partners committed to transforming labour migration outcomes. Your monitoring and evaluation expertise will be instrumental in documenting impact, informing programme adjustments, and building the evidence base that drives sustainable change across the region.
