Job Description

ACCOUNTS RECEIVABLE SPECIALIST Company: Surgipharm Limited, a DP World Enterprise ABOUT THE ROLE Are you a detail-oriented finance professional ready to take control of customer receivables? Sokify is recruiting an Accounts Receivable Specialist to join Surgipharm Limited's finance team. In this pivotal role, you'll be the guardian of the organization's cash flow, ensuring that invoices are accurate, payments are tracked, and customer accounts remain healthy. You'll work at the intersection of finance operations and customer relationships, making a direct impact on the company's financial health. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Your day-to-day will involve maintaining pristine accounts receivable records and processing customer payments with precision and speed. You'll be the detective of overdue accounts, proactively investigating outstanding balances and following up with customers to recover payments. Your analytical eye will spot discrepancies during customer account and general ledger reconciliations, resolving issues before they escalate. You'll maintain comprehensive debtor ageing reports and flag high-risk or long-outstanding accounts for management attention. Monitoring customer credit limits against agreed payment terms will be second nature to you, ensuring compliance across all customer relationships. Month-end and year-end closing support will be part of your routine, alongside cash flow forecasting and preparing you for audit requirements. When customers have billing questions or payment concerns, you'll handle these professionally and courteously, turning potential friction into relationship-building moments. You'll generate periodic receivables, collection, and ageing reports that keep management informed and decision-ready. Additionally, you'll navigate IFRS 9 compliance requirements, including expected credit loss calculations and impairment assessments, ensuring proper financial reporting. Collaboration is essential here—you'll work closely with Finance, Sales, Operations, and other departments to resolve receivables matters efficiently and maintain smooth financial operations. QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE You hold a Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, Business Administration, or a related field. A CPA, ACCA, or equivalent professional qualification will strengthen your application. On the practical side, you bring a minimum of two to three years of hands-on experience in accounts receivable, credit control, debt collection, or a related finance function. You're proficient with ERP and accounting systems, and Excel is your trusted tool for data analysis and reporting. You can interpret tax legislation and translate complex requirements into workable business solutions. Strong reconciliation and problem-solving skills are non-negotiable. You're someone who sees patterns in numbers, identifies root causes quickly, and implements lasting solutions.
