SOKIFY JOB LISTING Position: Bar Manager Employer: Queen Deli (Bottega) Location: Westlands, Nairobi ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY Queen Deli is launching Bottega, an exciting new Italian piazza restaurant concept in Westlands, complete with an adjacent bar that promises to become one of Nairobi's most sought-after hospitality destinations. We are seeking an experienced, dynamic Bar Manager to spearhead the bar operation from its pre-opening phase through to established success. YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES You will take ownership of the complete bar operation, beginning with pre-opening setup including equipment procurement, glassware selection, supplier relations, systems implementation and service standards establishment. You will design and develop signature and seasonal cocktail menus, carefully curate wine and spirits selections, and establish standard recipes, presentation protocols and pricing strategies that reflect our brand positioning. Day-to-day, you will manage all bar operations with a focus on delivering consistently excellent service that is both fast and welcoming to every guest. You will manage inventory systematically, overseeing stock counts, placement orders, cost control, stock rotation and waste minimization while maintaining strong relationships with beverage suppliers. You will lead the bar team by recruiting talented bartenders and barbacks, implementing comprehensive training programmes, creating schedules and providing ongoing mentorship to build a professional, motivated group. You will drive commercial performance by tracking sales data, analysing profitability, understanding guest preferences, and developing promotions and events that increase revenue potential. You will ensure full compliance with Nairobi County liquor licensing regulations, public health standards and all safety requirements. WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU You bring at least three years of hands-on experience in a senior bar or supervisory position within a high-volume establishment such as a restaurant, hotel, lounge or bar in Nairobi. You possess strong mixology expertise and deep knowledge of spirits, wines, beers and contemporary beverage industry trends. Experience launching new bar concepts or managing bar openings is highly valued. You understand inventory management systems, POS technology, beverage cost analysis and basic profit and loss management. You demonstrate excellent leadership and communication abilities with a hands-on management approach that leads by example. You possess genuine commercial acumen and the confidence to take complete ownership of bar performance and strategy.
