Job Description
CLIMATE ASSESSMENT SPECIALIST FOR EAST AFRICA
Location: Nairobi, Kenya
About IMPACT Initiatives
IMPACT Initiatives is a humanitarian organization headquartered in Geneva, Switzerland, dedicated to strengthening the evidence base that supports humanitarian action across the globe. The organization brings together experts in data collection, management, analysis, and geographic information systems to deliver high-quality research and assessments that inform decision-making in crisis contexts.
IMPACT operates in partnership with Acted, a major international NGO with operations across thirty countries, creating a powerful network that combines research expertise with on-the-ground operational capacity. This partnership enables IMPACT to work effectively in complex humanitarian environments while maintaining rigorous analytical standards.
The REACH Initiative, established in 2010 through collaboration between IMPACT Initiatives, Acted, and the United Nations Operational Satellite Applications Programme, focuses on developing information products that enhance humanitarian planning and response. REACH works to bridge the gap between raw data and actionable intelligence for emergency response, reconstruction efforts, and development programming.
The Role
As Climate Assessment Specialist for East Africa, you will be based in Nairobi and play a key role in advancing REACH's climate-focused research and assessment work across the region. You will contribute to developing evidence-based products that help the humanitarian community understand climate risks, vulnerabilities, and impacts on vulnerable populations. Your work will support better-informed decision-making across emergency response, resilience-building, and development initiatives throughout East Africa.
If you are a dedicated professional with expertise in climate analysis and a passion for supporting evidence-based humanitarian action, we encourage you to apply.
