POSITION OVERVIEW Norwegian People's Aid (NPA) is searching for an accomplished Country Director to lead and shape the organization's growing regional portfolio spanning Sudan and the Horn of Africa. Based in Nairobi, Kenya, this international position offers the chance to direct critical humanitarian and development work across one of the world's most challenging operational contexts. ABOUT THE ROLE Since 2022, NPA has delivered essential humanitarian assistance and supported locally led civil society initiatives throughout Sudan, responding to severe humanitarian needs. Following the outbreak of conflict in 2023, operations have been strategically managed remotely from Nairobi through established partnerships with Sudanese organizations, ensuring continuity of vital programs. As NPA strengthens its regional footprint, the organization is expanding its presence across the Horn of Africa, with Ethiopia now part of the active portfolio. Additional programming opportunities are being explored throughout the wider region, encompassing humanitarian response, civil society strengthening, peacebuilding initiatives, and Mine Action operations. The Country Director will provide visionary strategic leadership for this expanding regional mandate, overseeing program development, organizational growth, and partnership management across multiple countries and sectors. REPORTING LINE This position reports directly to the Regional Director for Africa and Latin America. This role represents a significant opportunity to influence humanitarian strategy and organizational development across a critical region.
