THE OPPORTUNITY Sokify is publishing an exciting opportunity for a high-performing Country Manager and Investment Lead to drive BFREE's expansion across East Africa. You will serve as the regional face of BFREE in Kenya and the broader East Africa region, taking ownership of institutional capital deployment into non-performing loan portfolios while scaling a technology-enabled, borrower-centric investment platform. This role sits at the intersection of private debt origination and commercial leadership, where you will build and execute on a significant mandate with considerable autonomy. WHAT YOU'LL DO Investment Origination and Execution You will develop and maintain a strong pipeline of non-performing loan portfolio acquisitions and structured participation transactions. From initial asset valuation and financial modeling through due diligence, commercial negotiation, and transaction closing, you will lead the complete deal lifecycle. Working alongside our data science teams, you will refine pricing models specific to Kenyan distressed assets, balancing competitiveness with sustainable returns. Strategic Market Leadership Your role includes establishing BFREE as the primary institutional partner for non-performing loan monetization among top-tier banks, microfinance institutions, and digital lenders in Kenya. You will represent BFREE to the Central Bank of Kenya and other regulatory bodies, influencing how the distressed credit asset class evolves. You will also champion the adoption of BFREE's technology-enabled, ethical collection solutions across Kenya's financial sector. Relationship and Growth Management You will cultivate strong partnerships with senior executives including CEOs, CFOs, Chief Risk Officers, and Recovery Heads at Kenya's leading financial institutions. Your goal is transforming individual transactions into sustainable, multi-year portfolio off-take agreements that drive long-term growth. WHO YOU ARE You are a builder-investor with both technical depth and commercial acumen. You bring a minimum of five years of professional experience in investment banking, private equity, credit investing, or structured finance, with a proven track record of closing business-to-business transactions in Kenya's financial sector. You demonstrate mastery of financial modeling and portfolio valuation, capable of confidently presenting valuations to investment committees. You possess a established network of senior contacts within Kenya's banking and fintech sectors. Above all, you are entrepreneurial by nature, thriving in high-autonomy environments where you create your own path. You are a deal closer first and foremost.
