THE ROLE As a Credit Officer based in Nairobi, you will be the driving force behind business development and customer success for Jawabu Biashara. Your primary focus will be identifying, recruiting, and supporting customers through the complete lending lifecycle. You will actively market and promote credit solutions to prospective clients, conduct thorough loan appraisals, and ensure consistent loan repayment follow-ups to maintain portfolio quality. Your ability to balance growth with risk management will be essential—you must maintain excellent portfolio quality while building strong customer relationships that encourage long-term loyalty. Additionally, you will prepare monthly performance reports that demonstrate the impact of your work and contribute to the organization's strategic planning. WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR You bring a Certificate or Diploma in Business Administration, Management, Banking, Cooperative Management, Entrepreneurship, or a related field. You have at least two years of hands-on experience in micro business lending and logbook lending. Your background includes proven success in sales and marketing, combined with strong portfolio management skills. You are computer literate and comfortable working within team environments while consistently meeting tight deadlines. Above all, you are passionate about credit, demonstrating unwavering integrity and confidentiality in all dealings. Your communication and customer handling abilities are excellent, enabling you to build trust and manage relationships effectively.
