Job Description

SOKIFY JOB POSTING Position: Detailer Company: Confidential Posted: Monday, May 4, 2026 ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY We're seeking a detail-oriented Detailer to join our architectural doors, frames, and hardware team. In this role, you'll be the backbone of our project execution — transforming specifications and plans into accurate, code-compliant documentation that keeps our projects on track and our clients satisfied. If you're a meticulous professional who thrives on precision, problem-solving, and collaboration, this is your chance to build a meaningful career with a company that genuinely invests in your growth. WHAT YOU'LL DO As our Detailer, you'll manage the critical work of translating project requirements into actionable documentation. Your responsibilities will include: Reviewing sales sheets, purchase orders, architectural plans, and specifications to verify quantities, pricing accuracy, and alignment with project scope. Creating detailed door and hardware schedules that comply with contract documents, local building codes, and customer specifications. Developing comprehensive submittals, shop drawings, and supporting documentation using industry-standard software platforms. Producing detailed elevations and cross-sections that support project submittals and clarify design intent. Verifying product costs throughout the scheduling process and comparing estimates against actual figures to maintain budget accuracy. Identifying and flagging discrepancies, compliance issues, or design clarifications needed — then communicating these effectively with architects, general contractors, and internal teams. Reviewing completed schedules and submittals for accuracy while exploring value-added alternatives that enhance project outcomes. Coordinating with Sales, Estimating, and Project Management to ensure seamless handoffs between project phases. Ensuring all work meets or exceeds industry standards, including building codes, ADA requirements, UL, NFPA, and local regulations. Supporting Location and Project Managers as needed to prepare projects for the ordering phase. WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR Experience: 2-5 years working in door, frame, hardware, or construction detailing roles. Education: High school diploma or equivalent; technical training in drafting, construction management, or related fields is a plus. Technical Skills: Proficiency with blueprint reading, specification interpretation, and Microsoft Office Suite. Experience with Comsense Enterprise or Advantage software is highly valued. Knowledge: Strong understanding of door, frame, and hardware applications within the context of UL, NFPA, IBC, ADA, life safety, and local building codes. Core Competencies: Excellent organizational and time management abilities; strong mathematical and analytical skills; outstanding verbal and written communication; ability to balance multiple projects while meeting tight deadlines; self-motivated and able to work independently. Personal Qualities: Meticulous attention to detail, quality-focused mindset, positive interpersonal skills, and genuine enthusiasm for collaboration. WORK ENVIRONMENT This position is primarily office-based. You'll spend much of your time at a desk communicating verbally and in writing, working with detailed drawings, and using specialized software. The role involves regular sitting with frequent standing, walking, and reaching. You'll need strong vision and hearing to succeed in this position. WHY JOIN US? We believe your career should matter as much to you as it does to us. That's why we offer: Comprehensive health, dental, vision, and prescription coverage plus life insurance and 401(k) matching.
