Job Description

SOKIFY JOB LISTING Field Service Engineer - Philips About This Opportunity Philips is seeking a skilled Field Service Engineer to deliver comprehensive technical support for our diagnostic imaging systems across Kenya. In this hands-on role, you'll be the backbone of our customer experience — ensuring imaging equipment operates safely, reliably, and within all regulatory standards while maximizing uptime and satisfaction. You'll work directly at customer sites and through remote support channels, taking full ownership of cases from diagnosis through resolution. This position requires someone who can think technically, communicate effectively, and understand the critical impact that equipment downtime has on healthcare operations. Key Responsibilities Install, troubleshoot, and maintain advanced Philips imaging systems including MRI, CT, X-ray, Cath Lab/IGT, and Nuclear Medicine equipment. Perform systematic diagnostics and repairs using approved tools and structured problem-solving methods to restore clinical operations quickly. Complete all service documentation with precision, maintaining detailed records and ensuring full traceability of all diagnostic and repair activities. Manage parts inventory responsibly and track system performance metrics. Ensure strict compliance with Philips quality standards, medical device regulations, radiation safety requirements, and MR safety protocols. Build and maintain strong customer relationships by managing escalations professionally, communicating technical issues clearly, and setting realistic expectations. Identify opportunities for service upgrades, lifecycle replacements, and continuous improvement within customer accounts. Contribute to team success through knowledge sharing and adoption of new technologies and service approaches. What We're Looking For Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Mechatronics, Medical Sciences, or a related scientific field. Minimum 4 years of hands-on customer-facing experience in an engineering, medical device, or science-related environment. Proven direct experience servicing diagnostic imaging equipment in either a field service capacity or hospital biomedical/clinical engineering setting. Proficiency with service management platforms such as ServiceMax or equivalent CRM/FSM systems and remote diagnostic tools. Current OEM modality training certificates (multimodality experience preferred). IT or networking certification such as CompTIA Network+ or CCNA is advantageous. Work Arrangement This is a field-based role requiring you to work primarily at customer locations and supplier facilities rather than from a central office. Full-time on-site presence is expected when assigned to customer locations. About Philips Philips is a global health technology company built on the belief that every human matters. We're committed to ensuring everyone, everywhere has access to quality healthcare. If you're interested in this role and have most — but not all — of the listed experiences, we encourage you to apply. We may have other opportunities that suit your background.
