As General Cashier, you will be the financial backbone of our Front Office, Food & Beverage, and supporting departments, managing cash exchanges, remittances, and critical financial operations with precision and professionalism. YOUR ROLE You will oversee all cashiering operations across the hotel's departments, serving as a trusted steward of financial integrity and accuracy. Your responsibilities include collecting and verifying remittance envelopes from departmental staff, counting and reconciling cash, cheques, and credit card vouchers against computerized records, and preparing bank deposits to ensure all collections remain intact. You will compile and balance credit card sales vouchers by company, maintain updated transaction details, and obtain daily foreign exchange rates from bank sources for system updates. Your duties extend to disbursing approved petty cash requests, balancing your house bank account, and preparing comprehensive daily cashier reports for review by the Income Auditor and Finance Manager. You will prepare required cash and foreign exchange control reports in compliance with local regulations, assist in surprise cash counts, and follow up on bank drafts for clearing. Additionally, you will provide change to Front Office and Food & Beverage clerks, reimburse staff disbursements, and maintain custody of unclaimed wages. You will coordinate payroll withholdings with outsource partners for pensions and local levies, verify hotel payroll accuracy and timeliness, and maintain detailed staff records for various fund contributions. Training is an essential part of your role—you will mentor team members on critical skills including forged banknote identification, cheque and credit card verification, and financial procedures. You will participate in quarterly, bi-yearly, and yearly equipment inventory counts and demonstrate full flexibility to rotate within the Accounting and Finance Department or other hotel areas as assigned. WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field is essential. You bring a minimum of two years of cashier experience, ideally within a hotel or hospitality environment. You possess proficiency in computer systems including POS software and financial management tools, with strong mathematical abilities and meticulous accuracy when handling large sums of money. Your attention to detail and organizational skills are exceptional, and you have solid knowledge of financial regulations and cash handling procedures. You demonstrate outstanding customer service capabilities, remain calm and efficient under pressure while meeting strict deadlines, and communicate clearly in English. Familiarity with foreign currency exchange processes is important, as is your demonstrated integrity and absolute trustworthiness in all financial transactions. You are flexible and willing to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays as required. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS This position requires frequent standing and walking throughout your shift, with occasional ascending or descending of stairs and ramps.
