HOST / HOSTESS Fairmont The Norfolk Nairobi Entry Level Posted 1 day ago ABOUT THE ROLE Fairmont The Norfolk is seeking a Host/Hostess to join our hospitality team in Nairobi. As the first point of contact for our guests, you'll be the welcoming face that sets the tone for their entire dining experience. This role combines guest interaction, operational coordination, and attention to detail to ensure every visitor feels valued and well-cared for from the moment they arrive. WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING You'll greet guests with warmth and professionalism, creating memorable first impressions that enhance their overall experience. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include managing reservations using our digital booking systems, maintaining accurate records, and strategically seating guests to optimize both our dining capacity and comfort. You'll coordinate closely with front-of-house and kitchen staff, communicating special dietary needs, requests, and menu details clearly and efficiently. Throughout each service, you'll monitor guest flow and wait times, keeping both guests and staff informed with timely updates. You'll handle phone inquiries and reservations with accuracy, address guest concerns with empathy and professionalism, and resolve issues promptly. You'll also manage cash handling procedures during your shifts, maintain a well-organized host stand with readily accessible menus and materials, and ensure all safety, sanitation, and food handling standards are consistently met.
