Job Description
HR Associate at International Rescue Committee
About IRC and This Role
The International Rescue Committee stands at the forefront of global humanitarian response, delivering critical aid to communities affected by conflict and natural disasters. Since its founding in 1933 under the inspiration of Albert Einstein, IRC has grown into one of the world's most impactful international humanitarian organizations, operating across more than 40 countries and 29 U.S. cities. Our mission is clear: restore health, safety, education, economic stability, and dignity to those whose lives have been upended by crisis. We're seeking passionate, solution-oriented professionals to help us expand this impact worldwide.
What You'll Do
As an HR Associate within our I-Hub team, you'll be the guiding force for candidates and new employees navigating their journey with IRC. Your work begins before day one, where you'll shepherd candidates through the pre-employment process, answer their questions, and build excitement about joining our mission-driven organization. Once employees arrive, you'll coordinate their onboarding experience, ensuring they feel welcomed, informed, and ready to contribute meaningfully. Working alongside our Recruiting Associates and broader HR team, you'll manage administrative processes, maintain employee records, and serve as a key touchpoint for new hires during their critical early weeks. Your role bridges recruiting and human resources, making sure every person who joins IRC feels supported from application through their first day and beyond.
Why This Matters
Every interaction you facilitate helps attract and retain talented professionals committed to humanitarian work. By smoothing the onboarding experience, you enable our teams in the field to focus on their lifesaving work, knowing their administrative foundation is solid.
Ideal Candidate Profile
You bring strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and genuine enthusiasm for supporting people. You communicate clearly across different channels and cultures, handle multiple priorities simultaneously, and take pride in creating positive experiences for others. You're reliable, proactive, and aligned with IRC's mission to restore hope and dignity to vulnerable populations worldwide.
