ICT Officers - 2 Posts Mount Kenya University About This Role Mount Kenya University is seeking two skilled ICT Officers to strengthen our technology operations and support infrastructure. In these pivotal positions, you will bridge the gap between our technical teams and departments, ensuring seamless technology integration across the university. Your Key Responsibilities You will assess technology needs across departments in close collaboration with the ICT team, identifying solutions that drive operational efficiency. Your role includes delivering comprehensive user training and support to staff members, equipping them with essential digital skills for their daily operations. You will develop and maintain robust reporting systems and statistical tools to track university performance metrics. Working alongside the applications, network, and technical teams, you will coordinate integrated support services that enhance departmental productivity. Data protection and system integrity fall under your purview, requiring you to establish and regularly execute backup and security protocols. You will also design, develop, test and maintain core university applications and databases that support institutional growth and evolving requirements. A critical part of your responsibilities involves designing and implementing disaster recovery and business continuity systems for our software applications and databases. Additionally, you will contribute to developing the technical and leadership capabilities of the Applications Management Team. Qualifications Required You must hold one of the following qualification combinations: Option One: Bachelor's degree in Information and Communication Technology or a related field, plus professional certification in specializations such as Web Development, Security, Networking, Microsoft, Cisco, or Oracle platforms, with a minimum of 3 years' experience in similar roles within academic institutions or established organizations. Option Two: Higher National Diploma in Computer Science, Computer Technology, or Information Technology from a recognized institution, professional certification in Web, Security, Networking, Microsoft, Cisco, or Oracle specializations, and at least 5 years' experience in comparable positions within academic settings or reputable organizations.
