With growing demand from Eastleigh's vibrant trading community, we are establishing a dedicated presence at BBS Mall and seeking a skilled local leader to drive this expansion. The Role As Market Specialist, you will serve as Kuwa Pay's primary connection to the Eastleigh business community. This is a hands-on position focused on building trust, expanding awareness, and growing our merchant base in one of Nairobi's most dynamic trading hubs. Your day-to-day work will involve on-the-ground market engagement, community relationship building, and team leadership. Your Key Responsibilities Build and execute local market promotion activities throughout Eastleigh, with particular focus on BBS Mall and the surrounding ECD trading zones. Recruit, train, and manage a team of field promoters who are embedded within the Eastleigh community and understand local dynamics. Identify key trading clusters, merchant associations, and high-potential customer segments within Eastleigh's import trader ecosystem. Educate merchants about cross-border payment options, guide them through onboarding, and provide ongoing product support. Gather market insights and feedback from traders, then relay actionable intelligence to management. Establish and nurture long-term relationships that position Kuwa Pay as a trusted partner in Eastleigh's business landscape. What We're Looking For We value community roots and practical market knowledge over formal credentials. The ideal candidate is someone who has spent years in Eastleigh's trading environment, maintains strong personal connections there, and genuinely understands how business works in this community. This is not a desk-based role — you will be visible, accessible, and deeply engaged in the field. Essential Requirements 5 to 10 years of hands-on experience working within Eastleigh or the broader Nairobi import trading sector. Deep knowledge of Eastleigh markets, including BBS Mall, wholesale trade networks, and retail operations in the area. Established personal network within the Eastleigh business community with the ability to earn trust quickly and build lasting relationships. Cultural awareness and understanding of how Eastleigh's merchant community operates and conducts business. Proven track record recruiting, organizing, and supervising field teams. Demonstrated work ethic, reliability, and comfort handling demanding fieldwork. Fluent communication in Somali and English; Swahili proficiency is highly valued. Background in merchant acquisition, market promotion, or field sales. Familiarity with Anti-Money Laundering compliance standards is a significant advantage.
