The Opportunity We're looking for an entrepreneurial Market Specialist to drive our growth across Nairobi's most vibrant trading hubs. This is a hands-on role that puts you at the heart of our market expansion strategy. You'll work directly in key trading zones including Nairobi CBD, Luthuli Avenue, Kamukunji, and Gikomba markets, building lasting relationships with merchants and introducing them to smarter payment solutions. What You'll Do Lead market promotion initiatives across multiple trading zones in Nairobi, working ground-level to increase brand awareness and customer adoption. Recruit, train, and manage a team of field promoters who'll represent Kuwa Pay in local markets. Identify high-potential customer segments and untapped trading pockets where our services solve real business problems. Guide merchants through onboarding, help them understand our payment products, and demonstrate how cross-border payments to China work in practice. Gather market intelligence directly from traders and promoters, then translate these insights into actionable feedback for leadership. Build and nurture strong community relationships that position Kuwa Pay as a trusted partner in Nairobi's wholesale and retail ecosystem. What We're Looking For You bring 5 to 10 years of hands-on experience navigating Nairobi's local trading markets. You know Nairobi CBD and the electronics market on Luthuli Avenue inside and out. You understand what makes Kamukunji and Gikomba tick—the people, the networks, the informal channels that drive commerce. Your real strength is understanding local traders, knowing how to connect with promoters, and moving seamlessly through market routes and networks. You've successfully recruited and supervised field teams before. You're hardworking, reliable, and genuinely comfortable with demanding fieldwork. Your network in these markets is solid, and you communicate fluently in both English and Swahili. Experience in merchant acquisition, market promotion, or field sales gives you an edge. Familiarity with Anti-Money Laundering compliance is a significant advantage.
