SOKIFY PRESENTS: PROJECT MANAGER AT SYNKRON INTERNATIONAL
About This Opportunity
Synkron International stands as a leading Pan-African engineering and technical services company, delivering sophisticated industrial and engineering solutions across the continent. The organization builds its reputation on skilled technical teams, robust project governance frameworks, and an unwavering commitment to safety, quality, and client satisfaction.
We're recruiting an accomplished Project Manager to lead the execution of complex multi-country projects, champion operational excellence, and deliver results within agreed scope, timeline, and budget parameters. This role demands a commanding leader with proven engineering project experience, capable of orchestrating cross-functional teams while maintaining exceptional service standards in a dynamic, fast-paced setting.
What You'll Be Doing
You'll take ownership of comprehensive project planning, developing detailed schedules, scopes, and work breakdown structures that align with organizational goals. Resource coordination will fall under your purview—managing engineers, equipment, and materials to guarantee seamless project delivery.
Financial stewardship represents a core responsibility. You'll monitor project budgets meticulously, track spending patterns, and contribute to financial reporting and cost control strategies. Your involvement extends to project pricing, cost estimation analysis, and identifying efficiency improvements without sacrificing quality standards.
Client relationships sit at the heart of your role. You'll serve as the principal point of contact, ensuring transparent communication channels and consistently high satisfaction levels. Service Level Agreement compliance, contractual adherence, and quality benchmarking will receive your constant attention.
Risk management forms another critical pillar. You'll conduct thorough risk assessments, implement prevention strategies, and maintain project momentum through potential obstacles. Regulatory compliance, safety protocols, quality metrics, and engineering standards will be rigorously enforced across all activities.
Team leadership involves supervising project staff, monitoring individual and collective performance, and cultivating an environment where collaboration and high achievement flourish. You'll maintain comprehensive project documentation while preparing weekly updates, monthly reports, and special analyses as needed.
Using advanced project management platforms, you'll track progress, monitor deliverables, and manage workflows effectively. Finally, you'll work across departmental boundaries, supporting cross-functional initiatives and collaborative projects throughout the organization.
What We Need From You
Education and Certifications
A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Mechatronics Engineering forms the foundation. Project management certification such as PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent credentials are highly valued.
Experience
You'll bring 5-8 years of dedicated experience in project management, engineering project coordination, or operations management. Background in bottling, manufacturing, or engineering service sectors is strongly preferred. You must demonstrate proven success managing multi-country initiatives and administering Service Level Agreements.
Skills and Competencies
Hands-on proficiency with project management platforms including Microsoft Project, Trello, Asana, or Monday.com is essential. Mastery of the MS Office Suite for reporting and documentation is required, along with familiarity of financial tracking tools and ERP systems for expense monitoring.
You'll interpret technical documentation, engineering drawings, and compliance reports with confidence. Your leadership capabilities should shine through experience managing diverse technical teams across functions. Financial literacy is critical—you need solid grounding in budgeting, cost estimation, and financial reporting procedures.
Superior communication and stakeholder management abilities are non-negotiable. Problem-solving excellence, sophisticated risk management thinking, and sound decision-making form your professional backbone. You'll operate with deep understanding of regulatory compliance frameworks, quality assurance methodologies, and safety standards specific to engineering environments.
