REGIONAL PRIVATE SECTOR PARTNERSHIPS SPECIALIST
About This Opportunity
Sokify is partnering to bring you an exciting career opportunity with the International Organization for Migration (IOM), a UN-related agency that leads global efforts in migration management since 1951. This is your chance to make a meaningful impact across Sub-Saharan Africa while working with one of the world's most respected organizations dedicated to humane, orderly migration and the protection of people on the move.
The Role
As Regional Private Sector Partnerships Specialist, you will spearhead private sector engagement initiatives across Sub-Saharan Africa, supporting both West and Central Africa and East, Horn and Southern Africa regions. Working under the supervision of the Regional Directors in Dakar and Nairobi, with direct oversight from the Deputy Regional Director for Operations in Nairobi, and technical guidance from the Head of Private Sector Partnerships Division, you will be instrumental in building transformative partnerships that align with IOM's Strategic Plan 2024-2028 and Regional Strategies for 2025-2029.
Your core responsibilities will include developing and executing private sector engagement strategies across both regions, supporting country offices in establishing meaningful business partnerships, coordinating due diligence processes for private sector collaborations, building staff capacity in partnership development, and ensuring partnerships advance migration protection, corporate responsibility, and innovative solutions. You will work with regional bodies including the East African Community, IGAD, and ECOWAS, while maintaining strategic relationships with governments, development partners, and civil society.
What We're Looking For
You bring strong expertise in private sector partnership development with demonstrable experience managing complex stakeholder relationships. You possess excellent strategic planning and project management capabilities, combined with deep understanding of migration issues and their intersection with private sector interests. Your communication skills are exceptional across diverse audiences, and you demonstrate cultural sensitivity and the ability to work effectively in multicultural environments.
Qualifications and Requirements
Advanced degree in business, development, international relations, communications, or a related field is essential. You bring a minimum of seven years of professional experience in private sector partnerships, business development, or relationship management within development, humanitarian, or international organization contexts. Proficiency in English is mandatory, with additional fluency in French highly advantageous. Willingness to travel extensively throughout your assigned regions is required.

IOM is deeply committed to creating a respectful, inclusive workplace where all employees thrive professionally and feel valued. The organization actively welcomes candidates from diverse backgrounds and provides reasonable accommodation throughout the recruitment process. Particularly encouraged to apply are qualified female candidates and candidates from IOM Member States currently underrepresented in professional staff positions.
