REGISTERED NURSE (PART-TIME) U.S. Embassy to Kenya ABOUT THE ROLE Join the U.S. Embassy to Kenya's Medical Unit as a Registered Nurse and play a vital role in safeguarding the health and wellness of Mission personnel and their families. In this part-time position, you'll deliver comprehensive clinical care according to established medical guidelines, manage medical equipment and pharmaceutical inventories, coordinate vaccination initiatives, and develop health education programs for both groups and individuals. You'll also contribute to emergency medical preparedness planning for the Mission. Working directly under the supervision of the Medical Provider or Regional Medical Provider, you'll be at the center of our healthcare operations. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Provide direct medical care to Mission employees and eligible family members following approved clinical protocols Maintain accurate records and manage all medical equipment and supply inventories Develop and implement comprehensive vaccination programs Deliver group and individual health education initiatives Prepare and coordinate medical emergency contingency plans Ensure continuity of care and support emergency medical responses WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR Professional Experience: Minimum two years of post-qualification nursing practice required Clinical Expertise: Strong critical-thinking abilities with comprehensive understanding of medical evacuations, hospitalizations, insurance reimbursement processes, and local/regional medical services across all care levels Knowledge of Services: Current awareness of available specialists and hospitals; ability to arrange appropriate patient transport and maintain relationships with medical facilities EDUCATION AND CREDENTIALS Valid Registered Nurse (RN) degree from an accredited nursing school or equivalent diploma/certificate Current unrestricted Registered Nursing license from the U.S., Puerto Rico, or Western European equivalent All applicants must submit original RN license, degree, and/or official transcripts by the application deadline to verify eligibility.
