SAFEGUARDING COORDINATOR - KENYA Médecins Sans Frontières en Suisse POSITION OVERVIEW The Safeguarding Coordinator plays a central role in establishing and executing a comprehensive safeguarding strategy designed to minimize the risk of abuse affecting individuals across all operational contexts. This position demands close collaboration with coordination teams and project staff at every level, with direct accountability to the Head of Mission. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Context Mapping and Assessment Identify and engage key stakeholders at the national level, including other MSF sections, international and local NGOs, Ministry of Health representatives, and community-based organizations. Evaluate their existing safeguarding policies and abuse prevention initiatives while cataloguing available resources and support systems. Actively participate in Protection from Sexual Exploitation and Abuse coordination meetings to stay aligned with sector-wide efforts. Conduct comprehensive abuse risk assessments using participatory methods that meaningfully involve both staff members and community members. These assessments serve to identify vulnerability points and determine concrete risk mitigation measures tailored to the operating environment. Prevention Strategy Development and Execution Lead the organization through Safeguarding Self-Assessments and contextual risk evaluations, fostering a participatory and cross-functional approach. Ensure that frontline staff and local community representatives actively contribute to recognizing vulnerabilities and designing preventative measures. This position requires a commitment to building robust safeguarding frameworks that protect the individuals MSF serves while strengthening organizational accountability and cultural change around abuse prevention.
