SENIOR CONSULTANT / PROJECT MANAGER Location: Nairobi, Kenya Company: Business Sweden Are you ready to accelerate growth and expansion for Swedish businesses across Kenya and Eastern Africa? Business Sweden is looking for an experienced Senior Consultant or Project Manager to drive strategic market initiatives and lead high-impact projects from our Nairobi office. ABOUT THE ROLE You'll take ownership of significant promotion initiatives spanning Transport, Energy, Infrastructure, and Healthcare sectors, while also supporting private sector clients of all sizes. Your work will encompass market analysis, stakeholder mapping and engagement, market entry strategies, and growth planning. This position offers exceptional variety and responsibility, making it ideal for professionals who thrive on dynamic, challenging work. Your influence will extend across the entire East African region. Your responsibilities will span strategic, tactical, and operational levels: Lead and manage full client engagement cycles from initial contact through proposal development, ensuring pipeline growth and well-scoped projects with accurate cost estimates. Take direct responsibility for project success by leading, managing, and developing team members while building their capabilities. Establish and strengthen client partnerships by designing rigorous analytical approaches, ensuring all insights and recommendations are thoroughly researched and professionally presented. Actively identify emerging business opportunities, drive value-focused selling approaches, and contribute to developing innovative service offerings. Collaborate closely with Team Sweden across the region to support Swedish companies and create business promotion platforms. You'll report directly to the Trade Commissioner. Formal Qualifications: Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or related field preferred. For Senior Consultant role: minimum 3.5 years in Business Sweden, strategy consulting, management consulting, or equivalent experience. For Project Manager role: minimum 5 years in Business Sweden, strategy consulting, management consulting, or equivalent experience. Your background in multi-stakeholder Team Sweden projects is valuable. Proven track record delivering consultancy and strategic/trade development initiatives with demonstrated ability to drive sales conversations. Fluent English proficiency; additional language skills are advantageous. International work experience or time living abroad is meriting.
