Senior .NET Engineer (Platform Team) The Cigna Group is seeking a Senior .NET Engineer to join our International Organisations Health Platform Team. The Role You'll join our Platform Team as a senior technologist responsible for designing and delivering shared services and infrastructure that multiple product teams depend on. This is a hands-on position requiring deep expertise in both .NET development and DevOps practices. You'll work primarily in on-premises Windows Server environments while supporting our gradual transition toward hybrid and cloud-based solutions. Your responsibilities will include designing and building backend services and APIs using ASP.NET Core, developing optimized data access layers with Entity Framework Core, and owning services end-to-end from architecture through monitoring. You'll build and maintain CI/CD pipelines, implement Infrastructure-as-Code solutions using tools like Terraform, ARM, or Bicep, and collaborate closely with product and delivery teams to create reusable technical solutions that raise our engineering standards. What We're Looking For You'll have a Bachelor's degree in IT or a related field with 5 to 7+ years of software engineering experience with a strong backend focus. Your expertise must span both .NET technologies—particularly ASP.NET Core and Entity Framework Core—and hands-on DevOps practices including CI/CD and Infrastructure-as-Code implementation. Production-grade backend system development, solid on-premises Windows Server experience, and working knowledge of Agile practices are essential. You should be comfortable with Git-based version control and able to operate effectively across both application code and infrastructure layers. Nice-to-Have Skills Experience with Microsoft Azure or other hybrid and cloud platforms, familiarity with SAFe methodologies, and background building shared platforms or internal developer tooling will strengthen your candidacy.
