TUPANDE ADMINISTRATION SUPERVISOR (FIXED-TERM)
Sokify is showcasing this opportunity from One Acre Fund - Kenya, an organization transforming smallholder farming across Africa.
ABOUT ONE ACRE FUND
One Acre Fund has been empowering 5.5 million smallholder farmers across nine African countries since 2006. By providing quality farm supplies, tree seedlings, accessible credit, and modern agronomic training, the organization helps farmers increase their income by over 35 percent while building lasting resilience. With 9,000+ dedicated staff members, One Acre Fund operates in Kenya under the Tupande brand, where nearly 500 team members at the Kakamega headquarters support over 1.7 million farmers through 1,747 field staff.
THE POSITION
One Acre Fund is looking for an Administration Supervisor to oversee office operations and casual labour management at their biochar facility in Rukanga. This is a hands-on role perfect for someone with solid administrative experience and a background in managing casual workforces.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Your day-to-day work will include managing office operations, keeping workspaces organized and supplied, and maintaining comprehensive records of all administrative activities. You'll handle communications, coordinate meetings and travel arrangements, and ensure visitors and suppliers receive professional service.
In the casual labour space, you'll own the contracting function for the facility, ensuring adequate staffing for production schedules. This includes managing engagement records, processing payroll in compliance with Kenyan labour law, and maintaining proper documentation. You may eventually supervise an Administration Officer and manage 2-4 suppliers.
Compliance forms a critical part of this role. You'll ensure all activities meet company policies and regulatory requirements while maintaining strict confidentiality. You'll also collect and submit utility documentation for monitoring and verification purposes, covering electricity, diesel, water, and packaging data.
WHAT YOU BRING
You'll have two to three years of work experience as an office assistant, executive assistant, or administration supervisor. Demonstrated experience managing high-volume casual contracting and payroll under Kenyan labour regulations is essential. A diploma in Business, Public Administration, or a related field is often preferred.
Beyond qualifications, you're detail-oriented with strong problem-solving abilities. You communicate effectively across all levels, work well in teams, and manage your time efficiently. You're comfortable with data entry and submission tasks and have solid proficiency with Google Workspace and Microsoft Office applications. Knowledge of Environmental, Occupational Health and Safety practices in the workplace is valued.
