TUPANDE BIOCHAR CONTROL ROOM OPERATOR (FIXED-TERM) ABOUT THE ROLE Join One Acre Fund as a Control Room Operator at our Tupande Biochar facility, where you'll serve as the central nervous system of our pyrolysis production operation. This dual-responsibility position combines real-time process monitoring from our centralized control hub with flexible operational support across departments. You'll work dynamic shifts maintaining oversight of our production lines while providing responsive coverage that keeps our facility running smoothly. CORE RESPONSIBILITIES Your control room duties center on vigilant real-time monitoring of all PLC and HMI displays, continuously observing process dashboards across both pyrolysis production lines. You'll catch performance deviations and alarm conditions the moment they emerge, immediately notifying the relevant Shift Supervisor or line operators so corrective action happens without delay. Documentation forms a critical part of your role. You'll maintain detailed shift control logs, recording process data, system events, and alarm incidents at regular intervals to create an accurate operational record that supports continuous improvement. You'll function as a trusted partner to Shift Supervisors, providing centralized performance tracking data and contributing to production reporting that drives informed decision-making. When our facility powers up or winds down, you'll assist with system start-up and shutdown sequences, and you'll flag recurring control system faults to our Production Coordinator for electrical follow-up. Your floater responsibilities keep operations resilient. You'll rotate coverage across both production lines, stepping in to cover operator breaks and managing staffing surges as they occur, ensuring we maintain consistent line operations throughout your shift.
