Event Setup Crew - Kenya Mission Wear Fashion Show Sokify presents an exciting volunteer opportunity with Dorcas Destiny International to support a meaningful fundraiser that directly impacts vulnerable children in Kenya. About This Opportunity Join our energetic volunteer team for the Kenya Mission Wear Fashion Show & Fundraiser, where your efforts will help transform a venue into an inspiring event space. The funds raised will support the Beloved Destiny Children's Home and feeding programs that serve over 700 children across Kenya. This is your chance to make a tangible difference while being part of something truly special. What You'll Be Doing As part of our setup crew, you will contribute to multiple aspects of event preparation, including arranging the venue layout with chairs and tables, constructing the runway configuration, installing decorative elements such as banners and floral centerpieces, and arranging silent auction displays. You will also assist backstage with organizing Kenyan mission wear garments, steaming clothing items, and preparing model dressing areas. Additionally, you will help position directional signage and organize registration materials throughout the venue. What We're Looking For You should be comfortable remaining on your feet throughout the shift and capable of lifting and moving light furniture or boxes weighing approximately 20 pounds. We need individuals with a positive, collaborative attitude who are genuinely passionate about social justice and global outreach. Strong teamwork abilities and the capacity to follow instructions while working cohesively with other community volunteers are essential. Event Details Date: Saturday, August 15, 2026 Time: 9:00 AM to 2:30 PM (setup completion required before 3:00 PM doors opening) Location: Greater Life Christian Center, Justice, Illinois Volunteer Benefit Beyond the fulfillment of supporting orphans and vulnerable children in Kenya, setup crew volunteers are welcome to remain and enjoy the entire Kenya Mission Wear Fashion Show once their shift concludes.
